Mercy mission

Students, faculty and staff with a heart for service traveled to Moore, Okla., in July to provide desperately needed assistance to residents struggling to recover from the massive EF-5 tornado that struck their community May 20. Thirteen students and four faculty/staff volunteers rolled up their sleeves and went to work in the storm-ravaged city, clearing downed trees and other debris, moving furniture into a temporary school and sorting clothing donations to the mission that served as their temporary home. The efforts of the Berry team were featured on KTOV, the CBS affiliate in Tulsa.  The trip was organized by rising sophomore Olivia Paige, assistant director of campus community relations for Berry College Volunteer Services.
