Camille deBrunCamille deBrun may not have auditioned for the leading role, but she was a “rock star” backstage during her summer internship with Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre. Praised by Marketing Director Jessica Boatright as “an integral part of our team,” the senior public relations and Spanish major distinguished herself through her work to enhance the theatre’s social media presence and enrich its community engagement and outreach. She will continue her service remotely throughout the academic year.

The internship, funded by the Georgia Power Foundation, was conceived by Anne Kaiser, vice president of community and economic development for Georgia Power and a member of the boards of both Berry College and the Alliance Theatre.

“This internship meant so much to me because I got a glimpse of what it is like to combine my field of study with a real-world setting,” said deBrun, who plans to pursue a career in public relations and marketing after graduation. “I not only got great work experience, but I also got to learn from people who care so much about how their work impacts the community and their city. I realized that marketing and PR are truly beautiful when you are representing an organization that is changing the community for the better.”
