The Conference RoomAlex Middleton (12C), Steven Walker (12C) and Thomas Yungerberg (12C) may have graduated, but their comedy hit, The Conference Room, continues to generate laughs and awards, receiving two nominations (winning for Best TV Vodcast) at this fall’s National Student Production Awards. Thomas (bottom right in photo) also received a Pinnacle Award from the College Media Association for Disconnected, an audio drama he wrote, directed and produced featuring his voice along with those of senior Jennifer Allman and former student Devon Hales.

Fittingly, Viking Fusion – the platform for both productions – received its second straight nomination for Best College/University Journalism Website in Editor and Publisher’s international EPPY Award competition. Another EPPY nomination went to senior Bethany McDaniel, a finalist in the category of Best College/University Investigative or Documentary Report. Her story, “An Italian History: How one Jewish family survived Italy’s fascist persecution,” was part of the Jews of Florence study-abroad project involving seven Berry students and three faculty members last summer.
